Check out Lang’s Ice Manufacturing Process for Chicago, IL and Northwest Indiana Residents
Quality Assurances
Lang Ice Company uses Chicago city water as the foundation of its ice making, and several water treatment technologies are used when making our product, including:
- Culligan water softening
- Reverse osmosis filtering
- UV treatments
After the ice is manufactured, it is transferred along an extensive conveyor system that sifts snow and crushed ice particles away from the cubes, and dries the ice before it is packaged. This process assures that Lang Ice has the highest quality packaged ice cubes in the market. With our new packaging technology and automation, all retail sized packages are filled, master packed, palletized, and stretch-wrapped by machines to ensure consistent quality.
Packaged Ice Quality Control Standards (PIQCS)
Lang Ice uses the NSF Food Safety Auditing Program, an independent sanitation testing program, to ensure all quality control standards are being met at all times.
